Gender: Female

Hair Color: Dirty Blond
Eye Color: Blue diamond
Height: 5'3

Personality:
Let's just get it out in the open, Cosette is basically your Grandmother trapped in the body of an eighteen year old. Old fashioned in just about every manner possible she speaks in the tongue of yesterday and is often confused by your 'hip' and 'young' expressions. Indeed, Cosette is aware that times have changed but still makes no effort to change how she speaks, as she believes gives off an air of elegance. Which, in this day and age people seem to be lacking.
On first glance it's safe to assume she has nothing to hide. Head held up, chin out, and her shoulders back Cosette gives off the picture of a Proud Ruler calmly listening to her subjects. Indeed, manners have been bred into this young Lady who will always meet you gaze when speaking and treat you like a guest at her house, even when the two of you are close friends. In her mind, manners matter and those people who don't possess such will quickly be reminded to obtain some as soon as possible.
Over the years Cosette has obtained a thirst for knowledge and has never been able to quench it. Everything around her is simply fascinating and she's never been able to stop asking why. Why should she? It is by asking questions that one obtains new knowledge so she will continue asking why until there are no questions left. It was at an early age that Cosette learned if she could outwit her enemies that alone would be enough to protect her Country for ages.
Although she likes to think otherwise, Cosette like anybody else has faults and gets rather angry now and then. Since she was taught never to shout, Cosette voices her displeasure with you by silence. That's right, the silent treatment. When you try and talk to her, she'll kindly bow and excuse herself from your presence and not give you a second glance or any indication she wants anything to do with you. On rare occasions the young lady has been known to pinch at elbows, stomp on feet, and even slap you if provoked. When an argument goes erupt she brings out everything from the time you left out that sock to the other night when you forgot to compliment her hair. Nothing is held back.
A holder of grudges for years upon years, Cosette simply can't say 'I'm Sorry.' The words simply aren't in her vocabulary, that or she's too proud or pigheaded to admit she was wrong. It's best for you to just apologize and all will be forgiven.
Despite appearances, Cosette has a very anxious character and is often found worrying about world affairs to the state of her economy. In order to stay calm, Cosette frequently reads other Country's newspapers so she can stay one jump ahead just in case. Besides worldly affairs, the woman also frets that people will not like her and runs herself into a panic which is never a pretty sight.
As France's little sister, Cosette has grown up in a very high class and wealthy environment; where anything she could ever hope for was given to her. Called spoiled by most, she dresses in the finest of French fashion and only eats meals prepared by a gourmet chef. Thankfully, she's been kept in check and gives proper thanks for everything she's been given and taught that most people have much less then her. It was during a trip to visit her good friend America that Cosette learned of the intense poverty and suffrage most faced. Since then, she's been trying to cut back on her excessive spending and donating old clothes no longer worn to people in need. Still, when your surrounded by as much wealth as she its easy to forget about the less fortunate.
Likes:
+ Ballet In her opinion the purest and most refined of all art forms in existence and nothing you say could convince her otherwise. Thanks to countless years of strict training, the simple act of walking is done with grace and elegance.
+ Books The key to another world where Cosette can visit anytime just by opening its pages. She welcomes all types of books to her stack and is found every afternoon reading in the parlor.
+ Social Gatherings Despite her serious appearance, she can never pass up a good party to socialize with others and trade stories.
+ Cosmetics Cosette's one true love; otherwise known as her makeup bag. She is somewhat vain and down right refuses to step out of her room without doing her makeup.
Dislikes:
- Taxes Don't like em and doesn't have them. Monaco is considered to be a tax haven.
- Loud Noises She wonders if people know that Loud music can cause their heart to collapse.
- Dirty Houses It makes little sense to her, if you put effort into your appearance why shouldn't you put the same effort into your living quarters?
- France petting her head: What is she? Some kind of dog or cat? No, nor is she so little as France likes to think. All Cosette wants is to be treated equally by him.
Fears:
~ What everybody else is doing: She doesn't know what other Countries are thinking or might do. That uncertainty causes many restless nights.
~ Flying One is up in the air like a bird! It's unnatural one should be left on the ground. Besides, why would happen if the plane suddenly fell from the sky?
~ Boats Exploring the sea's like a fish? It's unnatural one should be left on the ground. Besides, what would happen if the boat suddenly sank into the ocean?
Strengths:
+ Intelligence: Cosette;s greatest ally is her sharp wit. Over the years Alexis has mastered several languages including: French, Monégasque, Italian, English, and Occitan.
+ Green Monaco became one of the most environmentally sensitive countries in Europe and one of the first nations to use reforestation to preserve its spectacular mountainous backdrop.
+ Confidence: She walks proudly with her head held high letting others know of her existence.
Weaknesses:
- Physically Weak Being the smallest Country besides Vatican city has its drawbacks like in strength. At her height and weight Monaco could do little if she was attacked, which is why France is in charge of her National Defense.
- Gambling: It's an addiction and a problem. When in a Casino something inside her clicks and she is no longer the same person.
- Lactose: Cosette is lactose Intolerant and her body cannot digest lactose often found in milk thus making eating to be a bit of a pain.
History: ((I took the history summery from a site...hope that is okay. Eventually I will go back and rewrite it myself, but for now this okay right?))
Probably settled by Phoenicians in ancient times, Monaco was annexed by Marseilles and Christianized in the 1st cent. A.D. In the 7th cent. it was part of the kingdom of the Lombards, and in the 8th cent. of the kingdom of Arles. It was under Muslim domination (8th cent.) after the Saracens invaded France.
Monaco was ruled by the Genovese Grimaldi family from the 13th cent. In 1731 the male line died out, but the French Goyon-Matignon family, which succeeded by marriage, assumed the name Grimaldi. Monaco was under Spanish protection from 1542 to 1641, under French protection from 1641 to 1793, annexed to France in 1793, and under Sardinian protection from 1815 to 1861. The districts of Menton and Roquebrune (long part of Monaco) were incorporated (1848) into Sardinia, which in turn ceded them to France in 1860.
Monaco again came under French protection in 1861. In the late 1800s income from gambling by very wealthy visitors became Monaco's primary source of revenue. Until 1911, when the first constitution was promulgated, the prince was an absolute ruler. Rainier III, succeeded his grandfather, Louis II, as ruler of Monaco in 1949. In 1956, Rainier married Grace Kelly (1929–82), an American motion-picture actress, and a male heir, Albert, was born in 1958. Rainier worked to diversify Monaco's economy and make Monaco attractive to middle-class tourists.
In 1962 serious economic disagreements arose between France and Monaco, and new fiscal agreements (1963) severely curtailed the right of French citizens to use Monaco as a tax haven. The Monaco government also came into conflict with Aristotle Onassis, who owned majority interests in most businesses there; Monaco purchased his interests in 1967. Relations with France again became acrimonious in 2000 when Monaco was accused of being a center for money-laundering and France threatened to force the principality to tighten the regulation of its banks. Rainier died in 2005 and was succeeded as ruler by his son, Albert II.
Allies:
- France 'Her Big Brother' since July 1918, when the two signed a treaty stating France would protect her. The treaty, formally noted in the Treaty of Versailles, established that Monegasque policy would be aligned with French political, military, and economic interests.
- The United States of America Much to everyone's surprise these two Nations get along splendidly as they both seek to maintain and strengthen their Countries. If anything, the years have brought them closer together and Monaco values America's friendship.
Enemies:
-France's enemies: Because France is in charge of her National Defense what he says goes. Her enemies are France's enemies and she supports him..if only for protection.
Sample Post:
Over the many years Cosette's mornings had become almost like a dance routine which known by heart could be done with her eyes shut. Everyday around seven the sunlight sneaking through the curtains would find her eyes and remind the young woman that it was time to get up. She'd groan, pull the covers over her head and try to ignore the footsteps of the maids heavy walk as they went about the business. Still, five or so minutes later the sleep would be gone from the aristocrats acorn eyes and Cosette would be up running a comb throughout her long mane before carefully applying a tiny bit of makeup as to be presentable. It'd been years since she'd even stepped outside her room without blush, mascara, or lip gloss.
A small breakfast was served in the kitchen where Cosette would nibble on some vegan bread drizzled in raspberry jelly while maids and butlers alike shuffled in and out as they preformed their duties. She'd stay there in the kitchen for and hour or two eyes carefully taking in every word of the different news papers prepared daily for her. It was only when Cosette was satisfied that WWIII wouldn't start that day would she excuse herself back to her room and prepare for the rest of the day.
After a relaxing bath filled to the brim with millions of bubbles, Cosette would dance around her room as tens of different outfits were pulled from the closet and laid before her. The act of trying on shirts along with skirts or dresses was a tedious task, but one one must go through in order to give the best impression. Outfit chosen and set into place, the last but most important part came next. her makeup.
How she'd gone so long without the cure all cover ups, Cosette would never know. What she did know was without her sheer tinted moisturizer which succeeded in evening out her skin tone like no other Cosette would be lost. As always, blue orbs widened in awe and disbelief as the tiniest of imperfections vanished from sight leaving Cosette's skin that of a porcelain doll. Like clock work, next came the mascara which with a steady and practiced hand was painted onto her lashes with ease. Eyeliner, a bit of blush, and some lip gloss later Cosette sat back taking in the sight and smiled at what was reflected in the mirror.
"Pairfait." Setting her glasses into place Cosette was ready to meet the day which was now around eleven. But what did it matter? Looking perfect does take time you know. ((my first time playing her, hopefully it's okay.))
